Seattle Rock And Roll Marathon - June 23, 2012

.

Finished the Seattle Rock And Roll Marathon yesterday. I did pretty well until mile 23 and then my calves kept wanting to seize up with spasms. Had to walk it in but still ended up with a time of 5:19 for the 26 mile adventure

Brenda and I were in the same corral and ran together until her 13.2 race split from mine. I ran pretty well until about mile 18 and started running out of gas. I was doing the "job to there, run to there, job to there, run to there" routine until about mile 23.

Crossing the I-90 bridge, around mile 17.

I had the same problem on my 20 mile training run (at mile 19) but was able to take steps to push that out a few extra miles. It was a bummer to entirely walk the last three miles of the race but I did finish.

I thank god for the power, determination and ability to finish the race. I thank Brenda for her encouragement and running partnership. I thank all my friends for their support in this adventure.

Spokane Camera Jog - June 11 2012

I was in Spokane this weekend for a wedding and had a chance to go for a morning run before heading back to Seattle. I took my camera and experimented with it. Some shots turned out pretty good and others "not so much". Hopefully you will be able to tell which ones I posted (grin).

I hate it when artists make statues out of my image without my permission (grin).

Odd message for a brake shop, don't you think?

This last one if for Lt. Col. Michael P. Anderson, Astronaut, Space Shuttle Columbia.

The only shot of Gonzaga campus that turned out well enough to post. The clouds rolled in on me but I'd love to do a more extension jog there sometime. It looked amazing.

A very large red wagon slide, I hear on summer weekends, it is packed with kids!
